I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering & Construction at Georgia Southern University and the founder and director of the S.A.F.E. Lab. My publishing name is Mohammadsoroush Tafazzoli.

My primary research program examines construction safety and human performance, particularly worker fatigue, wearable and physiological sensing, technology adoption, and practical intervention. An established complementary program addresses sustainability and resilience in buildings and infrastructure.

I joined Georgia Southern in August 2023 after six years on the Washington State University faculty, where I was promoted to Associate Professor in 2023. Across these appointments, course development, student mentoring, professional practice, and scholarly service have developed alongside the research program.

Field engineering with Nevada DOT and scheduling and bid-development experience with Kiewit bring construction context to my teaching and research. Safety, cost, schedule, sustainability, and workforce needs are connected decisions on a real project.
